Pemahaman tekstual terhadap hadis Nabi pada abad VIII H/XIII M mengakibatkan kemunduran umat, sehingga timbul kehidupan yang kontra produktif dengan tujuan risalah. Maka timbul inisiatif Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jauziyyah (w. 751 H/1291 M), pada abad pertengahan Hijriyah. untuk membangkitkan umat Islam melalui tulisannya, I’lām al-Muwaqqi’īn an Rabb al-‘Ālamīn.
Penelitian in menjawab tiga permasalahan; (1) Metode pemahaman Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jauziyyah terhadap hadis hukum dalam kitab I’lām al-Muwaqqi’īn. (2) Alasan pemakaian metode dalam memahami hadis hukum, dan (3) Dasar-dasar yang menjadi acuan dalam memahaminya.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pemahaman hadis Ibn al-Qayyim adalah mauḍu’ī, bentuk pemahamannya kontekstual, pendekatannya bersifat komprehensif dan integral, meliputi; aspek sosiologis, antropologis, sintaksis, dan filosofis. Corak pemahamannya bi ar-ra’y, dengan tipologi istintājī.
Alasan pemakaian metode mauḍū’ī (tematis), karena pembahasannya bersifat komprehensif. Bentuk pemahamannya kontekstual, karena dapat mengikuti perubahan zaman. Pendekatannya integral, sehingga terhindar dari pemahaman yang parsial (juz’ī). Coraknya bi ar-ra’y, alasannya agar pemahamannya dapat diterima secara rasio. Tipologi istintajī alasannya terkait dengan persoalan yang terjadi di masayarakat, kemudian dikaitkan dengan hadis Nabi.
Dasar pemahamannya ada dua macam; pertama material, adalah al-Qur’an dan Hadis. Alasannya kedua hal itu merupakan sumber ajaran Islam. Kedua, dasar metodologikal; ra’y, qaul Sahabat, Iṣṭiṣlāḥ, sad az-zarī’ah, qawā’id lugawiyyah, dan qawaid uṣūliyyah, dan ‘urf, alasannya agar dapat memahami hadis sesuai dengan perubahan keadaan.
Penggunaan metode mauḍu’ī kontekstual mampu mewujudkan pemahaman produktif yang mampu menjawab permasalahan sesuai perkembangan zaman dari kacamata ilmu hadis.

ABSTRACT:

The textuality understanding of prophet’s hadith in VIII century H/XIII AD have be cause the decline of Islamic Studies and counterproductive with the purpose of the prophet’s Muhammad. So that, there was an initiative in Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jauziyyah (d. 751 H/ 1291 M) and contucted by his books is I'lam al-Muwaqqi'i as ijtihad’s to losed the taklid, and invite to returns to the Coran and Hadith.
This study answers three problems; (1) The method of Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jauziyyah's understanding of the legal traditions in the book of I'lam al-Muwaqqi'in. (2) The reason for using the method in understanding the legal traditions in the book, and (3) the basics that are the reference in understanding it.
The results is the method of understanding the hadith of Ibn al-Qayyim; thematic and the form of understanding is contextual, as for the approach is complex are including sociological, anthropological, syntactic, and philosophical aspects. The understanding pattern of beer is transmition and the typology is istintājī, because it departs from problems that occur in the field and is then associated with certain hadith. So thah, The reason for using the thematic method is because it is able to collect comprehension comprehensively, the use of a multi-complex approach is also to answer the problem completely with broad reasoning.
Therefore the understanding of legal traditions must be done contextually so as to be able to solve social problems.
