Abstract

ABSTRACT:
Corona Virus Disease 2019 or better known as Covid-19 is a type of disease that was only discovered in December 2019. This type of disease has become a pandemic in almost all countries, including Indonesia. This pandemic has a major impact on all sectors of life including islamic banking. Islamic banking, which is considered to be able to survive for two decades when the economic crisis hit, will be faced with the economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic. To see how well Islamic banks are able to survive in this problem, it can be seen from the health of their financial performance. Meanwhile, one indicator that can be used to assess the financial performance of Islamic banks is by looking at the level of profitability (ROA).
The purpose of this study to analyze the effect of NPF, FDR, BOPO, Inflation, and GDP on the Profitability (ROA) of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This type of research is quantitative, which uses the financial reports of 14 Islamic Commercial Banks 2020 for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd quarters of the year, which are obtained from the official website of each Islamic bank, for inflation and GDP data is obtained from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency (BPS). The method used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis with hypothesis testing using t test, F test, R2 test.
The results of simultaneous hypothesis testing (Ftest) variables CAR, FDR, NPF, BOPO, inflation and GDP have a significant effect on profitability (ROA) of Islamic Commercial Banks. With Fcount is greater than Ftable (37,350 > 2,37), and the value of sig. in the table of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05 (0.000 < 0.05). In the partial test (ttest) the variables NPF, FDR, Inflation and GDP have no impact on the profitability of Islamic banks, because each has a probability value of NPF of 0.542, FDR 0.191, Inflation of 0.161, and GDP of 0.705, where this value is greater thanα (0.05). While the CAR and ROA variables have a significant effect on ROA, because the CAR and BOPO variables have a probability value of 0.00, where this value is below α (0.05). For the test of determination adjusted (R2) in this regression model has a score 84.2%, and the remaining 15.8% is influenced by other variables that are not explained in this study.
