Menghafal Al-Qur’an merupakan kegiatan yang amat agung disisi Allah SWT, Selain mendapatkan kemuliaan disisi Allah SWT, menghafalkan Al-Qur’an juga bisa menumbuhkan kecerdasan emosional seorang individu, karena dalam prakteknya menghafalkan kalam Allah ini memerlukan penuh rasa sabar, dari kesabaran tersebut para santri terbiasa mengelola emosinya. Penelitian yang peneliti tulis ini mempunyai judul “Kecerdasan Emosional Santri Penghafal Al-Qur’an (Studi Kasus di Pondok Pesantren Fadhlul Fadhlan Semarang)”. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana EQ santri yang menghafal Qur’an di Pondok Pesantren Fadhlul Fadhlan Semarang. Penelitian ini memakai metode penelitian kuantitatif. Purposive sampling dipakai dalam pengambilan sampel penelitian ini, yaitu subjek yang dipilih adalah santri penghafal Al-Qur’an di Pondok Pesantren Fadhlul Fadhlan yang telah menetap selama lebih dari dua tahun yang berjumlah 34 orang santri. Analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan bantuan aplikasi IBM SPSS versi 16. Peneliti hanya mendeskripsikan data sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat 1 (3%) santri yang menghafal Al-Qur’an masuk dalam kategori sangat rendah, 6 (18%) santri yang menghafal Al-Qur’an masuk dalam kategori rendah, 20 (59%) santri menghafal Al-Qur’an masuk dalam kategori sedang, 4 (12%) santri yang menghafal Al-Qur’an masuk dalam kategori tinggi, dan 3 (9%) santri yang menghafal Al-Qur’an yang masuk dalam kategori sangat tinggi. Jadi, berdasarkan data di atas dapat disimpulkan bahwa jumlah terbesar merupakan santri yang menghafal Al-Qur’an yang memiliki tingkat kecerdasan emosional sedang.

Memorization of the Qur'an is a very noble endeavor in the eyes of Allah SWT. In addition to bringing glory to Allah SWT, memorizing the Qur'an can also improve emotional intelligence because, in practice, it demands a lot of patience, which teaches pupils how to control their emotions.The title of this research is “Emotional Intelligence of Students who Memorized the Qur’an (a case study at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School in Semarang)”. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the emotional intelligence of students at the Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School in Semarang who memorize the Qur'an. The type of research used in this research is quantitative. Purposive sampling was used in this study's sampling process, and the subjects chosen were Fadhlul Fadhlan Islamic Boarding School pupils who had memorized the Qur'an for more than two years, totaling 34 students. The analysis used in this study uses quantitative descriptive analysis using the help of the IBM SPSS version 16 applicationOnly the sample data are described by the researcher. The findings revealed that 6 students, or 18% of the class, fell into a low group for memorizing the Quran, 20 (59%) students were in a medium category, 4 (12%) students were in a high category, and 3 (9%) students were in a very high category. One student who memorized the Qur'an fell into the very low category, according to the results. So, based on the data above, One can draw the conclusion that students who memorize the Qur'an tend to have a medium level of emotional intelligence.
