Abstract

Some Chaos and disintegrations in social media are accused for the presence of buzzers. Many debates occur and make a polarization, pros and cons, among societies. The aims of this research are to know the activities and the existence of political buzzers in the perspective of democracy and maqāṣid asy-syarīʻah. This research is qualitative research which using ethnographic digital approach. The results of the research are political buzzers is an online actor on social media who used to build a good self-presentation in order to gaining the enthusiastically and attractive respond from followers, and to create an interesting topic of discussions in the time line which leads to be the trending topic. Now, they are still alive and active on social media, and there were some companies which is offering systematically services just like they used to be during general election with lots of prices in honorarium. After the general election on 2019, buzzers categorized in two parts, pro-government and contra-government. Nevertheless, pro-government buzzers show more negative impression than contra-government buzzers, through leading public opinion and verbal repression to anyone who are criticizing the government. Whereas those activities could harm the essence of democracy so that lead to the decline of democracy itself. So does in maqāṣid asy-syarīʻah, perspective, political buzzers give maslahah in order to build political awareness in digital era. But in the other hand, the madharat caused by the political buzzers is greater and more dangerous than the benefits (maslahah) given.
