Terdapat 14 prosesi inti dalam pernikahan adat Jawa dan terdapat syarat sebelum acara inti dilaksanakan. Selain itu, terdapat uborampe sebagai pelengkap dalam prosesi pernikahan adat Jawa. ABSTRACT:
Mojokerto, which is one of the regencies in East Java, with all the historical wealth in the Majapahit kingdom, has an interesting characteristic in the Javanese traditional wedding procession. As one of the areas in East Java that still holds the traditional Javanese wedding tradition with various rituals. This study is intended to answer the questions: (1) What is the meaning of symbolic messages in Javanese traditional wedding traditions in Mojokerto Regency? (2) How to understand the meaning of the symbolic message of Javanese traditional marriage in Mojokerto Regency in the study of semiotics? These problems are discussed through field studies. The location in Mojokerto and conducted by interview, observation, and documentation methods. All data were analyzed by Julia Kristeva's semiotic analysis with a semantic approach.
This study shows that (1) The researcher obtained this data through an interview process with "Pranoto Adicoro" namely Mr. Suyatno, the person whose job is to lead the Javanese traditional wedding procession in Mojokerto. There are 14 core processions in Javanese traditional weddings and there are conditions before the main event is carried out. There is uborampe as a complement in the Javanese traditional wedding procession. (2) In the Javanese traditional wedding procession, after the researchers conducted an in-depth study of each procession, they hypothesized that the patriarchal values contained in the Javanese traditional wedding procession in Mojokerto were found in some processions, not all. The processions that contain patriarchal values have been conveyed by the researchers with the perspective that the researchers have explained in the analysis chapter.
