Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine how the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum is implemented in boarding schooln-based schools and how the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum is modified to meet the educational needs of pesantren-based schools. Information was collected through observations, interviews, and documentation at several boarding school that implement this curriculum. The data analysis process follows three main stages, namely: data reduction, to select relevant and important data; data presentation, through narratives and tables that illustrate patterns and themes related to curriculum management; and conclusion drawing or verification, to confirm the findings. The research results show that the management of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum based on pesantren focuses on strengthening the morals of students while still using the basic structure from the government. Curriculum adjustments are made based on real conditions in the field, such as character strengthening through religious routines, including the recitation of Asmaul Husna and dhuha prayers. The implementation of the merdea belajar Curriculum provides students with the freedom to determine their own learning methods, designed to accommodate the unique characteristics of pesantren. The contribution of this research lies in the deep understanding of the implementation and management of the independent learning curriculum based on boarding school, particularly in the context of religious schools. These findings make an important contribution to the development of boarding school that are adaptive, value-based, and relevant to the needs of students in the modern educational era.
