Perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa semakin meningkat di era modern ini, terutama dalam membeli produk-produk yang memiliki nilai prestise tinggi seperti iPhone. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji secara empiris hubungan antara kontrol diri dan konformitas dengan perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa dalam membeli iPhone. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan melibatkan 150 mahasiswa yang pernah membeli iPhone sebagai sampel. Pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik purposive sampling, di mana subjek dipilih berdasarkan kriteria tertentu yang telah ditentukan oleh peneliti. Instrumen penelitian meliputi skala kontrol diri, skala konformitas, dan skala perilaku konsumtif. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson product-moment.
Hasil pengujian hipotesis pertama menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif antara kontrol diri dan perilaku konsumtif dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,649. Sementara itu, hasil hipotesis kedua menunjukkan adanya hubungan positif antara konformitas dan perilaku konsumtif dengan koefisien korelasi -0,663. Pada hipotesis ketiga, diperoleh nilai korelasi sebesar 0,726, yang menunjukkan adanya hubungan signifikan antara variabel kontrol diri dan konformitas dengan perilaku konsumtif mahasiswa dalam membeli iPhone. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semua hipotesis dalam penelitian ini dapat diterima. Penelitian ini memberikan pandangan bagi pengembangan program edukasi yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kontrol diri mahasiswa serta menyadarkan mereka akan dampak konformitas terhadap perilaku konsumtif.

ABSTRACT:
The consumptive behavior of university students has been increasing in this modern era, especially in purchasing high-prestige products like the iPhone. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between self-control and conformity with students' consumptive behavior in buying iPhones. The research method used is a quantitative approach involving 150 students who have purchased iPhones as the sample. The sample selection was carried out using a purposive sampling technique, where subjects were chosen based on specific criteria determined by the researcher. The research instruments included a self-control scale, a conformity scale, and a consumptive behavior scale. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson product-moment correlation tests.
The results of the first hypothesis test showed a negative relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior, with a correlation coefficient of -0.649. Meanwhile, the second hypothesis test indicated a positive relationship between conformity and consumptive behavior, with a correlation coefficient of -0.663. For the third hypothesis, a correlation value of 0.726 was obtained, indicating a significant relationship between the variables of self-control and conformity with students' consumptive behavior in purchasing iPhones. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that all hypotheses in this study are supported. This research provides insights for developing educational programs aimed at enhancing students' self-control and raising awareness of the impact of conformity on consumptive behavior.
