The complexity of modern life is increasing, which requires a mature attitude in addressing various problems, including gender-related issues. Although the latest data shows an improvement in Indonesia's Indeks Ketimpangan Gender (IKG), which reached 44.7%, gender inequality continues to occur and requires ongoing attention. These gender issues are closely related to religion, especially Islam. The interpretation of gender-related Qur'ān verses remains a controversial and complex topic in contemporary Muslim society, such as the prohibition of the use of hijab in the public environment, restrictions on women's participation in the public environment, and the interpretation of gender verses that only function as a defense of each individual. This study aims to analyze the interpretation of Suʿād Ibrāhīm Ṣāliḥ, a Muslim scholar, on gender verses in her book Qaḍāyā al-Mar'ah al-Mu'āṣirah: Ru'yah Syar'īyyah wa Naẓrah Wāqi'īyyah. The method used is descriptive analysis with a qualitative approach. The primary data of the research is the book by Suʿād Ibrāhīm Ṣāliḥ, while the secondary data includes literature related to the research topic. She also complements her interpretation with an analysis of the socio-historical context and its relevance to the current condition of women. Suʿād Ibrāhīm Ṣāliḥ argues that Islam provides equality and respect for women, and rejects the notion of discrimination against women in Islam. This study focuses on Suʿād Ibrāhīm Ṣāliḥ's interpretation related to several main themes, namely women's equality in creation, equality of men and women before God, women's right to choose a spouse, equality of women and men in leading the family, women's right to dress, women's and men's rights in the distribution of inheritance, women's equality in the practice of polygamy, and equality of women and men in the public sphere. The analysis is conducted by considering the redaction of gender verses and their relevance to contemporary gender issues in Indonesia. Suʿād Ibrāhīm Ṣāliḥ's interpretation offers a balanced approach between the perspective of syari’ah and contemporary reality. This is very relevant to bridging the gap between the traditional understanding of gender in Islam and the current social reality, as well as providing solutions to various gender issues faced by contemporary Muslim society, especially Muslim women in Indonesia.
