Abstract

This research aims to explain the use of Google Sites-based e-portfolio in improving learning and supporting assessment in writing skill. The research participants are ten English Education students at UIN Walisongo Semarang in the academic year 2024-2025. Through a qualitative method and a descriptive research design, data were collected from interviews with students who use e-portfolio in the learning process. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data display, and verification. The results show that students appreciated the flexibility, creativity, and ease of access offered by this platform, which contributed positively to their learning experience. However, there were technical challenges such as internet connection problems, limited features on mobile devices, and file upload processes that needed to be improved. These findings emphasize the importance of improving facilities and training to optimize the use of e-portfolio in English learning. Overall, Google Sites-based e-portfolio is an effective innovation to support the development of student competencies, as long as it is supported by adequate infrastructure and the right implementation strategy. E-portfolio as a academic digital assessment tool offers benefits such as increasing creativity, motivation, and students' reflection and digital literacy skills.
