To fulfill the demands of classrooms in the twenty-first century, pre-service teachers must be prepared with digital pedagogical abilities in the current digital era. Even though technology is being used in education more and more, many pre-service teachers lack the skills and confidence necessary to use digital technologies successfully. While interactive platforms like Mentimeter have been widely used to enhance student engagement, there is limited research on how pre-service teacher utilize such tools in real classroom settings, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Addressing this gap, the study explores how Mentimeter supports pre-service teachers in classroom management, instructional planning, and overcoming teaching challenges. Using a qualitative case study approach, six pre-service teachers from UIN Walisongo Semarang were observed and interviewed during their practicum at SMPN 18 Semarang. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis. Findings show that Mentimeter enhanced classroom engagement, built teacher confidence, and facilitated student-centered learning. Despite facing technical issues, participants adapted by preparing alternative strategies. The study implies that integrating tools like Mentimeter into pre-service English teacher can improve digital competence and promote innovative EFL instruction.
