Abstract

The development of digital technology in the financial sector has made it easier for the public particularly students to access various online investment instruments, such as online Sharia mutual funds. However, this increased ease of access has not been fully matched by a rise in students' investment interest. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of Sharia Financial Literacy, Risk Perception, and Technological Advancement on university students' investment interest in online Sharia mutual funds. This study employs a quantitative approach using a survey method, distributing questionnaires to 99 students from the Faculty of Economics in Semarang City. Purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique. The collected data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the aid of SPSS 25 software. The analyses conducted included instrument testing, classical assumption testing, partial testing (t-test), and a coefficient of determination test. The results indicate that Sharia Financial Literacy has a positive and significant partial effect on investment interest, with a significance value of 0.000. Similarly, Risk Perception has a positive and significant effect on investment interest, with a significance value of 0.000. In contrast, Technological Advancement does not have a significant effect on investment interest, showing a significance value of 0.691. The study demonstrates that students' understanding of Sharia financial aspects and their ability to assess investment risks are crucial factors in boosting interest in online Sharia mutual funds. Meanwhile, technological advancement—despite providing easy access to investments has not emerged as a primary factor influencing students' investment decisions.
