Abstract

The background of the study in this research was MAN 01 Semarang as one of state Islamic institutions that always created target of education up to proffesional progress and ability and also creation of students’ awarness in growth of epoch, itis realized through conducted learning process especially English language learning and supported activity which is its orientation goes to the vision of the school that was created alumna that religious, godfearing, achievement, and has good attitude and mission was Prepared Islamic leader that creative, inovative and aspirative by had science and technology based on belief and godfearing to Allah so, the school provided boarding school with English program and religion program for the students, it was hoped could increased quality of students in English learned and could reached vission and mission of MAN 1 Semarang. The problems in this study can be stated as follow: 1. What is the purpose English program in boarding school? 2. How is the implementation of English program in boarding school at MAN 01 Semarang? 3. How can English program in boarding school increace student’s English learning at MAN 01 Semarang? The objective of this study are (1) To know what is the purpose of English program in boarding school, (2) To know how can English program in boarding school increase students’ English learning at MAN 1 Semarang, (3) To describe the implementation of English program in boarding school how to help students in English learning. Method of this research is qualitative descriptive the subject of this study was the students of MAN 1 Semarang in the academic year of 2009/2010. The number of the subjects is 35 students. The data were collected using observation know roles and existence programs in boarding school such as how the implementation of English course program, English speak area program and English speech program and also monitoring the activities in every moment based on the schedule It was also possible to look other phenomena in line with this study . Interview was used to get the data from a headmaster of MAN 1 Semarang , housekeeper of boarding and students in boarding school. Documentation was intended to find data on manuscript, book, magazine, newspaper , epigrapy and agenda. The data were field analyzed model Miles and Huberman which the processed of the data were reduction, data display, and conclusion. The results of the analysis were used to describe the implemented of English program in boarding school. The boarding school was provided for students as placed to ran the programs with a purpose to guided them to be student which had achievement academicaly. And those become primary focused was development quality of student in English mastery. Students were be able to sharpen their English ability optimally in boarding school because it was had English program to increase English ability for students. The English program such as (1) English course program that was student could studied everithing with the competence tutor, communicative language learning ( CLT ) and some media.(2) English speak area that was The student speak everything that they can and other friends correct if any something wrong in pronounciation and grammar. The students seen so fun and spirit. Usually they speak about problems in daily life, their experience and etc. (3) English speech that was students have to mastery Islam material and speak English well and did by student innings. They could submited everything about Islam and problem in religion. The purpose of the program were to practiced mentality of students to performed and spoke English. Based on the results of the research, it could be concluded that the implementation of English programs could helped students to increase their English learning and it is hoped that it could be valuable information resource for students, teachers, and the writer herself and society
