Abstract

Evaluasi program pembelajaran bahasa Arab diperlukan untuk penjaminan mutu suatu sistem pembelajaran, guna mengetahui capaian hasilnya serta kontribusi dalam mendukung pencapaian visi Perguruan Tinggi. Pelaksanaan evaluasi perlu dilakukan secara komprehensif dengan mengadakan tinjauan secara menyeluruh terhadap tujuan; perencanaan; implementasi; dan produk program, termasuk faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya seperti: latar belakang pendidikan dan persepsi. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menyelidiki seluruh aktivitas dalam program pembelajaran, dipahami melalui model Context Input Process Product (CIPP). Studi evaluatif ini dilakukan untuk menjawab permasalahan: (1) Bagaimana evaluasi program pembelajaran bahasa Arab pada PIB UIN Walisongo Semarang berdasarkan CIPP?; (2) Bagaimana pengaruh latar belakang pendidikan dan persepsi tentang Program Intensif Bahasa Arab terhadap hasil belajar bahasa Arab mahasiswa UIN Walisongo Semarang?. Penelitian ini menggunakan mixed method, model concurrent embedded. Data diperoleh malalui wawancara, dokumentasi, observasi dan kuesioner. Data kualitatif dianalisis dengan menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman, sedangkan data kuantitatif dianalisis dengan teknik regresi ganda.
Hasil analisis data menemukan bahwa: (1) Penyelenggaraan program pembelajaran bahasa Arab pada PIB UIN Walisongo merupakan bentuk keberhasilan UIN Walisongo dalam menciptakan upaya penguatan kompetensi berbahasa Arab bagi calon sarjananya guna pencapaian visi misi Perguruan Tinggi. Dalam perspektif mahasiswa, keberadaan program juga dipandang positif. Namun demikian, pelaksanaan program kurang disesuaikan dengan tujuan institusi pembelajaran bahasa Arab UIN Walisongo, yaitu: bahasa sebagai alat.; (2) Latar Belakang Pendidikan (X1) dan Persepsi tentang PIBA (X2) secara bersama berpengaruh terhadap Hasil Belajar Bahasa Arab mahasiswa (Y) dengan kontribusi sebesar 9,9%. Temuan tersebut memberi petunjuk bahwa pembelajaran bahasa Arab harus disesuaikan dengan kemampuan dasar bahasa Arab mahasiswa yang beragam dan perlu diupayakan dengan berbagai cara agar persepsi mahasiswa tentang program pembelajaran bahasa Arab positif sehingga mendorong mereka lebih berhasil dalam mengikuti program pembelajaran bahasa Arab.

ABSTRACT:

Evaluation of Arabic language learning program is needed to assure the quality of an instruction in order to uncover learning outcome and to contribute to achieve the vision of the university. It is necessary to implement the evaluation comprehensively by reviewing the goals and objectives, planning, implementation and product of the program, including affecting factors such as education background and perception of the students. This research is intended to investigate all activities in the instructional program, based on Context Input Process Product (CIPP) model. This evaluative research is intended to answer problems: (1) How is the evaluation of Arabic learning language program in PIB UIN Walisongo based on CIPP model?; (2) How does education background and perception about intensive Arabic language learning program affect students learning outcomes?. This research used mixed method with the councurrent embedded model. Data were collected through interview, documentation, observation, and questionnaire. Qualitative data were analyzed by using Miles and Hubermas model, and the quantitative data were analyzed by using multiple regression.
The results of data analysis found that: (1) The implementation of an Arabic language learning program in PIB UIN Walisongo is a form of success of UIN Walisongo in creating efforts to strengthen Arabic language competence for prospective bachelor student to achieve the university's vision and mission. In the student perspective, the existence of the program is also seen as positive. However, the implementation of the program was not adjusted to the institutional goal and objectives of language learning at UIN Walisongo, that is the language is a means; (2) The background of education (X1) and perception about Arabic language learning program (X2) affect students achievement (Y), which contribute 9,9 percent. This findings indicate that Arabic language learning should be confirmed with the Arabic basic competency of the student, which is heterogeneous. It is also necessary to confirm students perception to be positive so that it support them to achieve better learning outcomes in joining Arabic language learning program.
