Abstract

Studi ini mengkaji tren pergeseran perilaku konsumsi masyarakat Muslim milenial di Kota Semarang. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsi dan mengeksplorasi “bagaimana perilaku konsumsi masyarakat Muslim millennials di kota Semarang”. ada lima aspek yang dijadikan fokus dalam melihat fenomena konsumsi masyarakat Muslim millennials kota Semarang, yaitu: 1) konsumsi internet; 2) intensitas belanja online; 3) intensitas belanja leisure; 4) konsumsi tanda; 5) alokasi pendapatan untuk altruisme.
Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode survey, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Analisis secara deskriptif kualitatif.
Hasil penelitian adalah: 1) Konsumsi internet bagi masyarakat Muslim millennials kota Semarang sangat tinggi. Sehingga dapat dikatakan layanan internet adalah konsumsi pokok; 2) Tingginya intensitas konsumsi internet juga ikut mendorong tumbuhnya perilaku berbelanja online. Kewaspadaan harus tetap dijaga dari terjerumus menjadi shopaholic karena mudahnya mengeluarkan uang untuk berbelanja online; 3) Leisure activity semakin marak menjadi wahana konsumsi baru bagi Muslim millennials kota Semarang. Namun demikian, hendaknya dapat menghindari sindrom YOLO dan FoMO karena tidak sejalan dengan kaidah konsumsi Islami; 4) Konsumsi “nilai-tanda” (secara sadar dan sengaja) banyak dilakukan oleh masyarakat Muslim millennials kota Semarang. Tetapi dengan intensitas yang jarang (sesekali saja); 5) Kegiatan altruisme yang terorganisir dan optimal dipercaya sebagai salah satu solusi dalam mengatasi kesenjangan sosial di masyarakat. Hal yang perlu dievaluasi adalah a) perlunya penganggaran untuk kesuksesan terlaksananya altruisme dan b) perlunya sosialisasi edukatif kepada Muslim millennials kota Semarang terkait pentingnya mengetahui dan memahami nishab penghasilan yang wajib dizakatkan.

ABSTRACT:
This study examines the trend of shifting consumption behavior of millennial Moslems society in Semarang City. The purpose of this research is to describe and explore "how the consumption behavior of Moslems millennial in the city of Semarang". There are five aspects that are used as a focus in observing the phenomenon of consumption of the Muslim millennial community in Semarang. There are There are five aspects that are used as the focus in observing millennial Moslem society consumptions phenomena of Semarang city, they are: 1). Internet consumption; 2). Intensity of online shopping; 3). Intensity of shopping just for experiences; 4). Consumption for prestige/sign-value; and 5). Income allocation for altruism.
This research is a field research that use phenomenology approach. Data collecting method by using survey, interview and documentation, then analyzed by using qualitative-descriptive analysis.
The results show that: 1). Internet consumption for millennial Moslem society in Semarang city is high-ranking. So that, it can be said that internet services are basic consumptions; 2). High intensity of internet consumption also encourage appear the behavior of online shopping. Vigilance must be maintained from falling into a shopaholic because it is easy to spend money to online shopping; 3). Leisure activity increasingly to be new consumption activity for millennial Moslems of Semarang city. However, we have to stay apart from YOLO and FoMO syndrome because it’s not appropriate to rules of Islamic consumption; 4). Consumption “sign-value” (aware and intentional) mostly are done by millennial Moslem society of Semarang city, but with rare intensity. And 5). Altruism activity that organized and optimally trusted as one of solutions to resolve social gap in the society. The points that need to be evaluated are: a). necessity of budget for make this activity successful, and b) necessity of socialization to educate millennial Moslems of Semarang city about the importance of knowing and understanding nishab of income that should be taken it out.
