Abstract

English is still a foreign language in Indonesia but the government has implemented English as a top priority subject in the education curriculum. This is shown by including English as a national exam subject. Many students have difficulty in learning English. Usually, during the online class , parents cannot fully help their children learn. , because the covid-19 pandemic causes schools to hold online classes, this makes it difficult for students to adapt and receive materials. One of the best solutions for their children is through the kampung Inggris corse program ; a program organized by Kampung Inggris Slawi to help student difficult in learning English . The purpose of this study is to explain the process of teaching and learning English in Kampung Inggris Slawi , Tegal. This study usesd a descriptive qualitative approach. This activity was carried out in Slawi , Tegal district, Central Java. Data collection was carried out by several techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The result of this research is that teaching and learning in English Village Slawi improves the participants' ability to speak English as well as builds good character. Activities in this program are directed, contain elements of learning, enjoyment and character building. The teaching and learning process combines theory and practice. The teacher used variation methods .
