Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi aspek motivasi berorganisasi grassroots leadership pada ranah kampus. Tujuan utama penelitian ini mengidentifikasi motivasi berorganisasi mahasiswa yang terlibat dalam grassroots leadership. Wawancara dilakukan dengan informan yang memimpin organisasi pertama kali pada fakultas yang baru dibentuk. Studi ini menggunakan teori Mc Clelland (1961) dan teori Alderfer (1969). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi berorganisasi grassroots leadership yang merupakan dorongan kepemimpinan awal organisasi untuk mengajak anggota bekerja sama dengan menjalin relasi pada organisasi yang lebih senior sebagai pembangun karakter anggota.

ABSTRACT:
This study explores the motivational aspects of grassroots leadership in the campus domain. The goal of this research is to identify the organizational motivation of involved college students in grassroots leadership. Interviews were conducted with informants who led the organization for the first time at the newly formed faculty. This study uses the theory of Mc Clelland (1961) and Alderfer's theory (1969). The results showed the novelty of the discussion of organizational motivation, grassroots leadership which was the initial leadership encouragement of the organization to invite members to work together by establishing relationships with older organizations as character builders of members.
