Generasi muda sebagai wujud representasi Indonesia di masa depan, sehingga dalam menjaga agar di masa depan tidak terpecah belah dibutuhkan penanaman nilai dan sikap. Moderasi beragama sebuah konsep kebaruan dalam rangka Indonesia menjaga generasi di tengah keberagamannya. UIN Walisongo sebagai perguruan tinggi Islam Negeri memiliki peran dalam menanamkan moderasi beragama baik secara pola pikir atau pemahaman dan juga praktiknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman mahasiswa UIN Walisongo terkait moderasi beragama sekaligus praktik moderasi beragama. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa : 1) Mahasiswa mampu memahami moderasi beragama yang dapat dilihat dari perspektif komunikasi intrapersonal, 2) Mahasiswa mampu dan memahami praktik empat indikator praktik moderasi beragama yakni : Komitmen kebangsaan, Toleransi, Anti kekerasan, dan penerimaan terhadap budaya.

ABSTRACT:
The younger generation as a form of representation of Indonesia in the future, so that in order not to be divided in the future, instilling values and attitudes is needed. Religious moderation is a novelty concept in the context of Indonesia protecting generations amidst its diversity. UIN Walisongo as a State Islamic university has a role in instilling religious moderation both in mindset or understanding and also in practice. This study aims to determine the understanding of UIN Walisongo students regarding religious moderation as well as the practice of religious moderation. This study uses a type of qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The research results obtained were: 1) Students are able to understand religious moderation which can be seen from the perspective of intrapersonal communication, 2) Students are able to understand the practice of the four indicators of religious moderation practices namely: National Commitment, Tolerance, Anti-violence, and cultural acceptance.
