Industri kasur kapuk adalah salah satu dari industri yang menjadi sorotan di Kabupaten Pati. Di dalam persaingan pasar yang semakin kuat, industri kasur kapuk diharap bisa menerapkan berbagai strategi atau yang baru guna mempertahankan industri akibat adanya industri kasur busa. Mengembangkan strategi bersaing berorientasi untuk meningkatkan pemasaran produk. Sedangkan dengan adanya industri Kasur kapuk berdampak pada kondisi ekonomi Desa Karaban.
Penelitian ini memanfaatkan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian didapatkan dari cara observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teori Strategi bertahan hidup James Scott untuk menguraikan kejadian-kejadian di lapangan menjadi suatu analisis.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa, (1) perkembangan industri kasur kapuk mengalami penurunan jumlah pemasaran setelah adanya industri kasur busa untuk itu perajin kasur kapuk menerapkan strategi untuk meningkatkan penjualan dengan menambahkan inovasi produk baru berbahan dasar kapuk (2) dampak ekonomi yang dirasakan perajin kasur kapuk setelah adanya industri kasur busa, pemasaran kasur kapuk menurun tetapi dengan diterapkannya strategi membuat inovasi produk baru perekonomian Desa karaban mulai meningkat lagi.

ABSTRACT:
The kapok mattress industry is one of the industries that is in the spotlight in Pati Regency. In the increasingly intense market competition, the kapok mattress industry is expected to implement various or new strategies to maintain the industry due to the existence of the foam mattress industry. Develop a competitive strategy oriented to improve product marketing. Meanwhile, the cotton mattress industry has an impact on the economic conditions of Karaban Village.
This research utilizes a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data in the study were obtained from observation, interviews and documentation. In this study using James Scott's survival strategy theory to describe events in the field into an analysis.
The results of this study indicate that, (1) the development of the kapok mattress industry experienced a decrease in the amount of marketing after the existence of the foam mattress industry. For this reason, kapok mattress craftsmen implemented a strategy to increase sales by adding new product innovations made from kapok (2) the economic impact felt by kapok mattress makers After the existence of the foam mattress industry, the marketing of cotton mattresses decreased but with the implementation of the strategy of creating new product innovations, the economy of Karaban Village began to increase again.
