Abstract
Pesantren akan tetap survive bila terus bergerak melakukan perubahan-perubahan sesuai dengan kebutuhan zaman. Pada era yang serba modern ini Pesantren dituntut untuk melakukan pembaruan di segala aspek. Kondisi inilah yang telah dilakukan oleh Pesantren Al-Ishlah Cirebon yang telah melakukan pembaruan pendidikan melalui berbagai konsep.
Tujuan dari pada penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui latar belakang terjadinya pembaruan pendidikan, faktor faktor yang mendukung serta yang menghambat pembaruan pendidikan di Al-Ishlah.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, dengan metode observasi, wawancara dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian adalah 1. Adanya keprihatinan dari para tokoh Al-Ishlah yang melihat pakemnya kegiatan pesantren. 2. Adanya kedekatan dengan tokoh PUI. 3. Kondisi intelektual KH. Emet Ahmad khotib yang merapat ke Orde Baru. 4. Kedekatan dengan tokoh tokoh di tingkat regional, nasional ataupun internasional. 5. Kedekatan pesantren Al-Ishlah dengan Pesantren Modern Gontor. Adapun bentuk kegiatan pembaruan yang dilakukan adalah: 1. Bidang kelembagaan. 2. Membangun kemitraan dan networking. 3. Membangun pemberdayaan ekonomi.
Implikasi pembaruan Pesantren AlIshlah berdampak terhadap lembaga, Alumni, Pemberdayaan dakwah dan Masyarakat, seperti: bertambahnya kepercayaan, jumlah santri, peningkatan kesejahteraan guru dan karyawan. Ketersediaan tenaga pendidik dan terbukanya lapangan pekerjaan, serta berdirinya lembaga-lembaga berbasis pesantren oleh alumni dan tokoh-tokoh Al-Ishlah.
Saran untuk pesantren adalah: mendirikan perguruan tinggi, meningkatkan sarana dan prasarana, perluasan wakaf, kaderisasi dan peningkatan kesejahteraan keluarga.
ABSTRACT:
Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) will remain survive if they continue to make changes according to the needs of the times. In this modern era, the Islamic boarding schools (Pesantren) are required to carry out reforms in all aspects. This condition has been carried out by the Islamic boarding school (Pesantren) Al-Ishlah Cirebon which has carried out educational reforms through various concepts.
The purpose of this study is to find out the background of the occurrence of educational reform, the factors that support and hinder educational reform in Al-Ishlah.
This study uses a qualitative approach, with the methods of observation, interviews and documentation studies. The results of the study are 1. There is concern from Al-Ishlah figures who see the standard of Pesantren activities. 2. There is a close relationship with PUI figures. 3. Intellectual condition of KH. Emet Ahmad Khotib who is close to the New Order. 4. The proximity to prominent figures of the regional, national or international level. 5. The proximity of the Al-Ishlah Islamic Boarding School to the Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School. The forms of renewal activities carried out are: 1. Institutional sector. 2. Building partnerships and networking. 3. Building economic empowerment.
The Renewal implication of Al-Ishlah Islamic Boarding School have impacts on institution, alumni, da'wah and community empowerment, such as: increasing human trust, the additon of students quantity, the welfare improvement of teachers and employees, the availability of educators and job openings, and the establishment of Pesantren -based institutions by alumni and Al-Ishlah community leaders. While the inhibiting factors are the lack of financing for Islamic boarding schools and the spread of the Al-Ishlah extended family in several places with various professions.
