Abstract

Pondok pesantren salaf dengan metode bandongan dan sorogannya terbukti berhasil mengajarkan tatabahasa dan qira`ah kepada para santri. Namun pondok pesantren jenis ini dianggap kurang memberikan perhatian pada ketrampilan produktif utamanya kalam sebagaimana pondok-pondok yang disebut pondok pesantren modern. Berbeda dengan kebanyakan pondok pesantren salaf, Pondok Pesantren Raudlatul Ulum Guyangan Pati Jawa Tengah memberikan ruang pengembangan pembelajaran mahārah al-kalām tanpa meninggalkan ciri khas pondok pesantren salaf dengan kitab kuningnya. Hal inilah yang mendorong saya untuk melakukan penelitian di pondok pesantren ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1) Untuk mengetahui tujuan pembelajaran Bahasa Arab pondok pesantren Raudlatul Ulum; 2) Untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis pembelajaran mahārah al-kalām pondok pesantren Raudlatul Ulum; dan 3) Untuk mendiskripsikan dan menganalisa alasan pondok pesantren Raudlatul Ulum memberikan perhatian lebih terhadap pembelajaran mahārah al-kalām. Penelitian yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus eksplanatori (explanatory case studies) pada bulan Mei sampai bulan Oktober 2021. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Model Miles dan Huberman. Temuan yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab mempunyai tujuan santri dituntut mampu untuk melakukan dialog dan menyampaikan informasi dengan berbahasa Arab. 2) Pembelajaran mahārah al-kalām pondok pesantren tersebut dengan mengunakan matapelajaran muhādatsah serta kegiatan ekstrakurikuler berupa khiṭābah dan munāqasyah, evaluasi pembelajaran meliputi imtihān dan munāqasyah; 3) Alasan pondok pesantren memperhatikan mahārah al-kalām karena mengacu pada visi misi pondok pesantren, hasil prestasi santri, pengembangan bakat dan prestasi santri, posisi Bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa Agama Islam dan bahasa Internasional.

The Salaf Islamic boarding school with its bandongan and sorogan methods has proven to be successful in teaching grammar and qira`ah to the students. However, this type of Islamic boarding school is considered to pay less attention to productive skills, especially kalam, as are the so-called Modern Islamic boarding schools. In contrast to most Salaf Islamic boarding schools, the Raudlatul Ulum Islamic boarding school in Guyangan Pati, Central Java, provides space for the development of mahārah al-kalām learning without leaving the characteristics of the Salaf Islamic boarding school with its yellow book (kitab kuning). This is what prompted me to do research at this Islamic boarding school. The purposes of this research are: 1. Determine the goals of learning Arabic at that Islamic boarding school; and 2. To describe and analyze the Islamic boarding school's mahārah al-kalām, learning. 3. To describe and analyze the reasons for the boarding school that gives more attention to learning mahārah al-kalām,The research was conducted using qualitative approach with explanatory case studies from May to October 2021. Data collection techniques used interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used the Miles and Huberman model. The findings from this study are: 1. Arabic learning has the aim that students are required to be able to carry out dialogue and convey information in Arabic. 2. Learning mahārah al-kalām,at an Islamic boarding school using the muhādatsah subject and extracurricular activities such as khiṭābah and munāqasyah,; learning evaluation includes imtihān and munāqasyah. 3. The Islamic boarding school pays attention to mahārah al-kalām because it refers to the Islamic boarding school's vision and mission, the outcomes of students' achievements, the development of students' talents and achievements, and the position of Arabic as the language of Islam and an international language.
