Abstract

Gerakan sosial baru adalah gerakan sosial yang mengorientasikan pada upaya penanganan beragam permasalahan, seperti HAM serta lingkungan. Salah satu gerakan sosial yang memberikan perubahan lewat pendayagunaan sumberdaya adalah gerakan sosial bidang filantropi yang mendukung pendidikan. Konteks penelitian ini adalah gerakan sosial bidang filantropi yang mendukung pendidikan, berbasis kelembagaan panti asuhan, yaitu Panti Asuhan Kafalatul Yatama dibawah naungan Yayasan Masjid At-Taqwa Ngaliyan Indah Semarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pertimbangan panti asuhan dalam mendukung program pendidikan tinggi, program-program yang ditetapkan panti asuhan dalam mendidik anak-anak asuh dan dampak pendidikan tinggi bagi individu, lembaga serta masyarakat.

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif, dengan pendekatan penelitian deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi non partisipan, wawancara semi terstruktur dengan ketua, pengurus, pengasuh, kakak-kakak asuh dan alumni Panti Asuhan Kafalatul Yatama serta melalui dokumentasi. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan, meliputi; panduan wawancara, alat tulis, alat rekam dan dokumentasi. Peneliti menyajikan data lapangan yang dianalisis menggunakan Teori Mobilisasi Sumberdaya Anthony Oberschall.

Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa Panti Asuhan Kafalatul Yatama menetapkan program pendidikan dasar hingga pendidikan tinggi didasarkan pada beberapa pertimbangan, faktor internal dan faktor eksternal. Selain itu, anak-anak asuh juga mendapatkan pendidikan informal serta non formal dalam meningkatkan kemampuan diri. Kekuatan pemimpin dan para pengurus sebagai partisipan adalah wujud pengoptimalan sumberdaya yang tersedia dalam rangka mendorong anak-anak bisa meningkatkan kualitas diri melalui program-program yang ditetapkan. Keberhasilan Panti Asuhan Kafalatul Yatama dalam mendukung pendidikan tinggi bisa tergambar dari adanya dampak pendidikan tinggi yang dirasakan tiap-tiap individu, dampak pendidikan tinggi bagi lembaga serta dampak pendidikan tinggi bagi masyarakat, baik secara langsung dan tidak langsung. Sehingga, Panti Asuhan Kafalatul Yatama adalah representasi gerakan sosial bidang filantropi yang memang mendukung anak-anak asuhnya bisa mengenyam pendidikan tinggi.

ABSTRACT:
A new social movement is a social movement that orients towards efforts to deal with various problems, such as human rights and the environment. One of the social movements that provide change through the use of resources is the social movement in the field of philanthropy that supports education. The context of this research is a social movement in the field philanthrophy that supports education, based on the institution of an orphanage, namely the Kafalatul Yatama Orphanage under the auspices of the At-Taqwa Ngaliyan Indah Mosque Foundation Semarang. This study aims to determine the considerations of orphanage in supporting higher education programs, programs established by orphanage in educating foster children and the impact of higher education on individuals, institution and society.
This research uses qualitative research methods, with a descriptive research approach. The data collection techniques in this study are obtained through non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews with the chairman, administrators, caregivers, foster siblings and alumni of the Kafalatul Yatama Orphanage and through documentation. The research instruments used include; interview guides, stationery, recording tools and documentation. The researcher presented field data analyzed using Anthony Oberschall’s theory of resource mobilization.
The results of this study explained that the Kafalatul Yatama Orphanage established basic education to higher education programs based on several considerations, internal factors and external factors. In addition, foster children also receive informal and non formal education in improving ther abilities. The strength of the leadership and administrators as participants is a form of optimizing the resources available in order to encourage children to improve their quality through established programs. The success of the Kafalatul Yatama Orphanage in supporting higher education can be illustrated by the impact of higher education felt by each individuals, the impact of higher education on institution and the impact of higher education on society, both directly and indirectly. Thus, the Kafalatul Yatama Orphanage is a representation of a social movement in the field of philanthropy that does support its foster children to receive higher education.
