Kemiskinan merupakan suatu masalah makro sosial ekonomi yang perlu diperhatikan oleh pemerintah, baik pemerintah pusat maupun daerah. Sebab itu perekonomian disuatu negara dikatakan baik, bila kesejahteraan dan taraf hidup masayarakat juga baik seperti keberhasilan dalam melakukan pengentasan kemiskinan, perbaikan pendidikan, peningkatan pelayanan kesehatan dan pelayanan publik lainnya.Tujuan terhadap penelitian ini adalah untuk mengukur seberapa besar pengaruh variabel-variabel terhadap tingkat kemiskinan yang ada di Kota Semarang, variabel tersebut antara lain
: tingkat pengangguran dan Indeks pembangunan manusia. Dalam penelitian ini metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian kuantitatif. populasi yang di gunakan adalah Kota Semarang. yang di peroleh dari data Badan Pusat Statistik dan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan nonprobability sampling yaitu berupa purposive sampling dengan menentukan kriteria- kriteria tertentu. Dan menghasilkan sampel Pertahun Dari Tahun 2017-2021.Dari penelitian ini menghasilkan Pengangguran (X1) tidak signifikasi mempengaruhi atau berpengaruh terhadap kemiskinan di Kota Semarang periode 2017-2021. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil uji t yang di peroleh nilai t hitung sebesar 2.258 lebih kecil dari pada t hitung yaitu : 4.303. dengan signifikasi sebesar 0.153 lebih besar dari taraf signifikasi 0.05. Indeks pembangunan manusia (X2) berpengaruh negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap kemiskinan di Jawa Tengah periode 2017-2021. Hal ini dilihat dari hasil uji t yang diperoleh nilai t hitung sebesar -1.521. lebih kecil dari pada t tabel yang sebesar
4.303. dengan nilai signifikasi 0.268 < 0.05.

ABSTRACT:
Poverty is a socio-economic macro problem that needs to be considered by the government, both central and local governments. While the welfare and standard of living of the community is the subject of discussion in economic development. Therefore, the economy in a country is said to be good, if the welfare and standard of living of the people are also good, such as success in reducing poverty, improving education, improving health services and other public services.The purpose of this research is to measure how much influence these variables have on the level of poverty in the city of Semarang, these variables include: the unemployment rate and the human development index. In this study the research method used is quantitative research methods. The population used is the city of Semarang. obtained from data from the Central Statistics Agency and the sampling technique used non-probability sampling, namely purposive sampling by determining certain criteria. And produce samples Annually From 2017-2021. From this study it resulted that unemployment (X1) did not significantly affect or influence poverty in Semarang City for the 2017-2021 period. This can be seen from the results of the t test which obtained a t count value of 2,258 which is smaller than the t count, namely: 4,303. with a significance of 0.153 greater than the significance level 0.05. The human development index (X2) has a negative and insignificant effect on poverty in Central Java for the 2017-2021 period. This can be seen from the results of the t test which obtained a t value of -1.521. smaller than the t table which is 4,303. with a significance value of 0.268 <0.05.
