Imam Mālik bin Anas menyusun kitab Al-Muwaṭṭa’ yang menjadi rujukan umat Islam, pada masanya kitabnya menjadi kitab hadis yang paling ṣaḥiḥ. Terdapat dalam kitabnya perawi-perawi yang tertuduh menganut aliran akidah yang berlawanan dengan ahl al-sunnah wa al-jamā’ah, mereka disebut ahl al-bid’ah. Sedangkan dalam berbagai literatur ditemukan sikap tasyaddud dan intoleransi Imam Mālik bin Anas kepada ahl al-bid’ah. Di satu sisi Imam Mālik mencela dan bersikap anti kepada ahl al-bid’ah, di sisi lain Imam Mālik menerima perawi tertuduh ahl al-bid’ah. Menjadi pertanyaan: (1) Siapa saja perawi tertuduh ahl al-bid’ah yang terdapat dalam kitab Al-Muwaṭṭa’? (2) Mengapa beliau menerima periwayatan mereka? Pertanyaan-pertanyaan tersebut dikaji melalui: (1) Kajian tokoh dan data kepustakaan. (2) Pendekatannya menggunakan teori ilmu al-jarḥ wa al-ta’dīl.
Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan; (1) Imam Mālik bin Anas hanya menerima perawi dengan derajat ṡiqah di dalam kitabnya Al-Muwaṭṭa’. (2) Imam Mālik membuktikan integritas perawi tertuduh ahl al-bid’ah dengan ketidaksudian mereka untuk berdusta sedikitpun, bahkan rela mati daripada berdusta. (3) Perawi tertuduh ahl al-bid’ah keṡiqahan mereka tidak dipengaruhi sedikitpun oleh akidah bid’ah yang dianutnya.
Penelitian ini mempunyai keterbatasan diantaranya, referensi dari Imam Mālik sedikit, bahkan Imam Mālik tidak menyusun kitab tentang ilmu hadis. Referensi kajian ini seringkali didapatkan dari selain Imam Mālik.
Rekomendasi untuk melanjutkan penelitian ini, hendaknya mengkaji sikap Imam Ibnu Sīrīn selaku pelopor penggunaan sistem isnād untuk perawi tertuduh ahl al-bid’ah.

ABSTRACT:
Imam Mālik bin Anas compiled the book Al-Muwaṭṭa’ which became the reference for Muslims, in his time his book became the most authentic hadith book. There are narrators in their books who are accused of adhering to a creed that is contrary to ahl al-sunnah wa al-jamā'ah, they are called ahl al-bid'ah. Meanwhile, in various literatures, it is found that the attitude of tasyaddud and intolerance of Imam Mālik bin Anas towards ahl al-bid'ah is found. On the one side Imam Mālik denounced and was intolerance to ahl al-bid'ah, on the other hand Imam Mālik accepted the accused narrator of ahl al-bid'ah. The questions become: (1) Who are the narrators accused of ahl al-bid'ah contained in the book Al-Muwaṭṭa’? (2) Why did he accept their transmission? These questions are examined through: (1) Character studies and literature data. (2) The approach uses the theory of science al-jarḥ wa al-ta'dīl.
The results of this study show; (1) Imam Mālik bin Anas only accepts narrators with the degree of ṡiqah in his book Al-Muwaṭṭa’. (2) Imam Mālik proved the integrity of the narrators accused of ahl al-bid'ah by their unwillingness to lie in the slightest, even willing to die rather than lie. (3) The narrators accused of being ahl al-bid'ah had not been influenced in the least by the heretical beliefs they adhered to.
This research has limitations, there are few references from Imam Mālik, even Imam Mālik did not compile a book on ‘ilm hadith. References to this study are often obtained from other than Imam Mālik.
The recommendation to continue this research is to examine the position of Imam Ibn Sīrīn as the pioneer of using the isnād system for narrators accused of being ahl al-bid'ah.
