Abstract

Kata shalat memiliki banyak makna.

ABSTRACT:
The word “salat” has many meaning. Referring to the Qur'an and hadis, there are many relational meanings of “salat” that are not only about worship. Using the Structural analysis method of Ferdinand de Saussure, the study of “salat” can be directed at non-partial study. The formulation of the problems in this research are (1) what is the structure and relation of the meaning of “salat” in the Qur'an? (2) how is the concept of “salat” in the Qur'an based on De Saussure's Structuralism Analysis? This type of research is library research using thematic methods with the Structuralism theory approach of Ferdinand de Saussure. This study shows, first, syntgically found that there are various structures of salat meanings, namely: 1) prayer (al-du’a’), 2) requests for forgiveness (al-istighfar), 3) affection (al-rahmah), 4) salawat, and 5) prayer rituals. As for paradigmatically, it is found that the meanings are interconnected between all syntagmatic meanings, as well as the relationship of four subjects: Allah SWT, Malaikat, Prophet Muhammad SAW and humans. Second, the use of syntagmatic and paradigmatic meaning relations of the word “salat” in the Qur'an can have its own implications for the concept of “salat” as a whole. These implications are related to harmony between “salat” as a ritual and its scope in other aspects of life, such as prevention from fahsya’ and munkar in human life.
