Abstract
This study was conducted to empirically examine the influence of self-disclosure and problem-focused coping on self-adjustment among students at Al-Musyaffa' Islamic Boarding School in Kendal. This research is a quantitative study with a causal approach. The population in this study comprises new students at Al-Musyaffa' Islamic Boarding School in Kendal, aged 16-18 years. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling. The sample size in this study is 301 students. The measurement instruments used in this study are the self-adjustment scale based on aspects from Schneiders (1955), the Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) developed by Wheeless (1976), and the problem-focused coping scale based on aspects from Folkman and Lazarus (1988). The analytical methods used include assumption tests and hypothesis testing. The assumption tests conducted are the normality test, linearity test, and multicollinearity test. The hypothesis testing conducted is a multiple linear regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that self-disclosure and problem-focused coping have an influence on self-adjustment among students at Al-Musyaffa' Islamic Boarding School in Kendal, with a significance value of < 0.001 and an influence of 39.5%.

ABSTRAK:
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menguji secara empiris pengaruh self-disclosure dan problem-focused coping terhadap penyesuaian diri pada santri Pondok Pesantren Al-Musyaffa’ Kendal. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kausalitas. Populasi dalam penelitian ini merupakan santri baru di Pondok Pesantren Al-Musyaffa’ Kendal yang berusia 16-18 tahun. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu non-probability sampling dengan cara purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 301 santri. Sedangkan alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu skala penyesuaian diri yang disusun berdasarkan aspek dari Schneiders (1955), skala Revised Self-Disclosure Scale (RSDS) yang dikembangkan oleh Wheeless (1976), dan skala problem-focused coping yang disusun berdasarkan aspek dari Folkman dan Lazarus (1988). Kemudian, metode analisis yang digunakan yaitu uji asumsi dan uji hipotesis. Uji asumsi yang dilakukan yaitu uji normalitas, uji linieritas, dan uji multikolinieritas. Sedangkan uji hipotesis yang dilakukan yaitu uji regresi linier begranda. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh self-disclosure dan problem-focused coping terhadap penyesuaian diri pada santri Pondok Pesantren Al-Musyaffa’ Kendal dengan nilai signifikansi < 0,001 dan berpengaruh sebesar 39,5%.
