Abstract

Academic procrastination is the behavior of someone who tends to delay or avoid completing academic tasks that should be done, so that tasks are neglected and the final results are not optimal. This research examines the influence of parental support and self regulated learning towards academic procrastination among students class of 2023 at SMA Negeri 13 Semarang. There were 288 students as the research population and 168 students as the research sample. This research uses a cluster sampling technique. The research method is a quantitative type which has three measuring instruments including parental support, self regulated learning, and academic procrastination. The data analysis method for this research is multiple regression testing. The results of this research explain that there is an influence between parental support on academic procrastination in students of the class of 2023 at SMA Negeri 13 Semarang. 2) There is an intermediate influence self regulated learning towards academic procrastination among students class of 2023 at SMA Negeri 13 Semarang. 3) There is the influence of parental support and self regulated learning against procrastination academics in the class of 2023 students at SMA Negeri 13 Semarang which shows the hypothesis results with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05) and a coefficient of determination value of 0.793, which means that there is an influence of parental support and self regulated learning amounting to 79.3%. The higher the parental support for the class of 2023 students at SMA Negeri 13, the lower the academic procrastination. The higher it is self regulated learning the lower the academic procrastination. The results of this research can be useful for increasing support from parents and self regulated learning on students, it is a consideration for teachers and parents to pay attention to their students and becomes input for further research to test other variables that have an influence on academic procrastination.

ABSTRAK:
Prokrastinasi akademik merupakan perilaku seseorang yang cenderung menunda atau menghindari menyelesaikan tugas-tugas akademik yang seharusnya dilakukan, sehingga tugas-tugas terbengkalai dan hasil akhirnya tidak optimal. Penelitian ini menguji pengaruh dukungan orang tua dan self regulated learning terhadap prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa angkatan 2023 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang. Terdapat 288 siswa sebagai populasi penelitian dan 168 siswa sebagai sampel penelitian. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling cluster. Metode penelitian berjenis kuantitatif yang mempunyai tiga alat ukur meliputi dukungan orang tua, self regulated learning, dan prokrastinasi akademik. Metode analisis data penelitian ini dengan pengujian regresi berganda Hasil penelitian ini menjelaskan Terdapat pengaruh antara dukungan orang tua terhadap prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa angkatan 2023 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang. 2) Terdapat pengaruh antara self regulated learning terhadap prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa angkatan 2023 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang. 3) Terdapat pengaruh dukungan orang tua dan self regulated learning terhadap prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa angkatan 2023 SMA Negeri 13 Semarang yang menunjukkan hasil hipotesis dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05) dan nilai koefisien determinasi 0,793 yang artinya terdapat pengaruh dukungan orang tua dan self regulated learning sebesar 79,3%. Semakin tinggi dukungan orang tua pada siswa angkatan 2023 SMA Negeri 13 maka semakin rendah prokrastinasi akademiknya. Semakin tinggi self regulated learning maka semakin rendah prokrastinasi akademiknya. Hasil penelitian ini bisa berguna untuk meningkatkan dukungan dari orang tua dan self regulated learning pada siswa, menjadi pertimbangan bagi guru dan orang tua untuk memperhatikan siswa-siswinya dan menjadi masukan bagi penelitian selanjutnya untuk menguji variabel lain yang mempunyai pengaruh dengan prokrastinasi akademik.
