Abstract
Penelitian mengenai locus of control masih jarang ditemukan, terutama dalam kajian studi fenomenologis. Padahal, locus of control memiliki peranan penting dalam menentukan respon dan tindakan seseorang dalam pengambilan keputusan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran terbentuknya locus of control dan apa saja faktor pembentuk locus of control pada terapis anak berkebutuhan khusus. Sampling purposif digunakan untuk merekrut lima terapis anak berkebutuhan khusus di Pusat Terapi Anak Talenta Semarang. Wawancara dilakukakan secara semi-terstruktur. Transkrip wawancara kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode descriptive phenomenological analysis (DPA). Terdapat 6 faktor pembentuk locus of control yaitu keluarga, motivasi, pelatihan, lingkungan fisik, lingkungan sosial (kebiasaan atau budaya), dan dukungna Sosial. Selain itu, melalui penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa 3 terapis anak berkebutuhan khusus memiliki locus of control seimbang (internal dan eksternal) sedangkan, 2 terapis sisanya menunjukkan kecenderungan locus of control internalnya. Temuan dalam penelitian ini dapat menjadi masukan bagi psikologi kepribadian dalam memahami peran locus of control sebagai unsur penting dalam mengidentifikasi tindakan dan mengambil keputusan yang tepat.

ABSTRACT:
Research on locus of control is still rare, especially in phenomenological studies. In fact, locus of control has an important role in determining a person's responses and actions in decision making. This research aims to determine the description of the formation of locus of control and what factors form locus of control in therapists for children with special needs. Purposive sampling was used to recruit five child therapists with special needs at the Semarang Talenta Child Therapy Center. Interviews were conducted in a semi-structured manner. The interview transcripts were then analyzed using the methoddescriptive phenomenological analysis (DPA). There are 6 factors that form locus of control, namely family, motivation, training, physical environment, social environment (habits or culture), and social support. Apart from that, through this research it can be seen that 3 therapists for children with special needs have a balanced locus of control (internal and external) while the remaining 2 therapists show a tendency towards an internal locus of control. Findings in this research can be input for personality psychology in understanding the role of locus of control as an important element in identifying actions and making the right decisions.
