Abstract

Self-esteem is an individual's attitude based on his perception of how he values and assesses himself as a whole in the form of positive and negative attitudes towards himself. Inappropriate parenting can also be a factor in decreasing self- esteem in individuals, directly individuals will have difficulty controlling their self- abilities, especially in the academic field. This research aims to empirically test the influence of authoritarian parenting and academic self-ability on self-esteem in female students at SMA N 08 Semarang. With a total sample of 233 students from SMA N 08 Semarang. This research uses quantitative methods with a sampling technique in the form of cluster random sampling. With data collection instruments using measuring scales in the form of an authoritarian parenting style scale, an academic self-efficiency scale and a self-esteem scale. Based on the results of the first hypothesis test, there is an influence exerted by authoritarian behavior on self- esteem with a significance value of 0.000 <0.05. The results of the second hypothesis are that there is an influence of academic self-efficiency on self-esteem with a significance value obtained of 0.000 <0.05. The results of the third hypothesis obtained a significance value of 0.000, which means the significance value is smaller than 0.05 (P < 0.05) with an effective contribution of 51.5%. These results show that there is a simultaneous influence of authoritarian parenting and academic self-efficacy on the self-esteem of female students at SMA N 08 Semarang. ABSTRAK:
Self esteem merupakan sikap individu berdasarkan persepsi tenteng bagaiamana dirinya menghargai dan menilai dirinya sendiri secara keseluruhan yang berupa sikap positif dan negatif terhadap dirinya sendiri. Pola asuh yang tidak tepat juga dapat menjadi faktor menurunnya self esteem pada individu, secara langsung individu akan kesulitan mengontrol self efficacy yang dimilikinya terutama pada bidang akademik. Penlitian ini bertujuan menguji secara empiris pengaruh pola asuh otoriter dan self efficacy akademik terhadap self esteem pada siswa siswi SMA N 08 Semarang. Dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 233 siswa siswi SMA N 08 Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunkan metode kuantitatif dengan teknik pengambilan sampel berupa cluster random sampling. Dengan instrumen pengumpulan data mengunakan skala alat ukur berupa skala pola asuh otoriter, skala self efficacy akademik dan skala self esteem. Berdasarkan hasil uji hipotesis pertama bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang diberikan oleh pola suh otoriter terhadap self esteem dengan nilai signifikasi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil hipotesis kedua bahwa terdapat pengaruh self efficacy akademik terhadap self esteem dengan nilai signifikansi yang diperoleh sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Hasil hipotesis ketiga memperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 yang berrarti nilai signifikansi lebih kecil dari 0,05 ( P < 0,05 ) Dengan sumbangan efektif sebesar 51,5%. Hasil tersebut menunjukan terdapat pengaruh secara simultan pola asuh otoriter dan self efficacy akademik terhadap self esteem siswa siswi SMA N 08 Semarang.
