Abstract
Arah kiblat merupakan jarak terdekat menuju Kakbah. Penetapan arah kiblat masih menimbulkan keraguan masyarakat karena ketidaksesuaian arah kiblat suatu masjid yang menyebabkan adanya kemelencengan. Beberapa tokoh falak dan astronomi menentukan batas toleransi kemelencengan arah kiblat. Muh. Ma’rufin Sudibyo sebesar 0º24’, Thomas Djamaluddin sebesar 2º, dan Slamet Hambali sebesar 1º. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk menjawab permasalahan 1) bagaimana latar belakang pemikiran Muh. Ma’rufin Sudibyo, Thomas Djamaluddin, dan Slamet Hambali tentang toleransi kemelencengan arah kiblat 2) bagaimana toleransi kemelencengan arah kiblat dalam perspektif fikih dan astronomi menurut Muh. Ma’rufin Sudibyo, Thomas Djamaluddin, dan Slamet Hambali. Merupakan penelitian kepustakaan dengan pendekatan transdisipliner. Data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini diperoleh dengan metode pengumpulan data dari ketiga tokoh serta hasil wawancara berdasarkan pemikiran ketiga tokoh.
Penelitian ini menghasilkan: Pertama, latar belakang pemikiran toleransi kemelencengan arah kiblat memiliki landasan masing-masing dengan tujuan untuk memberikan kemudahan dalam melaksanakan salat. Muh. Ma’rufin Sudibyo mengonsepkan Iḥtiyāth al-Qiblah dari jarak kemelencengan Masjid Quba’ kemudian membuat lingkaran ekuidistan dengan jari-jari yang sama dengan jarak kemelencengan Masjid Quba’, 45 km. Thomas Djamaluddin menetapkan penyimpangan yang ditoleransi 2º, diukur dari titik tempat dan sebagai perkiraan bahwa penyimpangan tersebut masih mengarah ke Kakbah. Slamet Hambali berpendapat, sebisa mungkin meluruskan arah kiblat dengan tepat. Kemelencengan arah kiblat yang tidak melebihi 1º masih dapat ditoleransi. Kedua, toleransi kemelencengan arah kiblat dalam perspektif fikih menurut ketiga tokoh kenyataannya dapat diberlakukan dan sah berdasarkan ketentuan menghadap kiblat para mazhab. Toleransi kemelencengan arah kiblat dalam perspektif astronomi menurut Muh. Ma’rufin Sudibyo dapat jadikan sebagai acuan toleransi, namun kedua pemikiran lainnya dapat digunakan pula sebagai bentuk kehati-hatian dalam pelaksanaan ibadah salat.

ABSTRACT:
The Qibla direction is the shortest distance to the Kaaba. Determining the direction of the Qibla continues to create public concerns since a mismatch in the direction of the Qibla in a mosque results in deviations. Several astrological and astronomical figures provide tolerance boundaries for departures from the Qibla direction. Muh. Ma'rufin Sudibyo scored 0º24', Thomas Djamaluddin 2º, and Slamet Hambali 1º. This research aims to address the following questions: 1) what is the background of the idea on tolerance for deviations from the direction of the Qibla according to Muh. Ma'rufin Sudibyo, Thomas Djamaluddin, and Slamet Hambali? 2) Muh. Ma'rufin Sudibyo, Thomas Djamaluddin, and Slamet Hambali discuss how to accept variations from the Qibla direction from a jurisprudential and astronomical standpoint. This is library research that takes a transdisciplinary approach. The data utilized in this study was gathered through data gathering methods from the three figures, as well as the outcomes of interviews based on their ideas.
This research reveals: First, the concept of tolerance for deviations from the Qibla is rooted in convenience during prayer. Muh. Ma'rufin Sudibyo derived the Iḥtiyāth al-Qiblah from the distance of the Quba' Mosque and created an equidistant circle with the same radius (45 km). Thomas Djamaluddin set a reasonable departure of 2º from the point of view, assuming the deviation still goes to the Kaaba. Slamet Hambali believes that the Qibla should be aligned as accurately as possible. A variation of less than 1º from the Qibla direction can nevertheless be tolerated. Second, tolerance for deviations from the direction of the Qibla in the context of jurisprudence according to the three figures is enforceable and lawful in light of the schools of thought's requirements for facing the Qibla. According to Muh. Ma'rufin Sudibyo, tolerance for departure from the Qibla direction in an astronomical viewpoint can be utilized as a reference, but the other two notions can also be employed as a sort of caution when doing prayers.
