Abstract
The significant population growth in Indonesia has led to an increasing demand for housing, recognizing that shelter is a fundamental human need. The two-year-long COVID-19 pandemic has compelled society to adopt new ways of living, necessitating housing designs that align with post-pandemic conditions. Employing the Biophilic Architecture approach, post-pandemic housing can offer a healthy living environment by creating spaces that enhance the physical and mental well-being of individuals. The design concept responding to post-pandemic conditions in residential homes includes flexibility of space within the residence as an office, sanitation areas, the home as a center for physical and mental health, integrating urban farming concepts for food sustainability, and changes in zoning arrangements tailored to post-pandemic conditions. The concept focuses on improving the quality of life and providing space for physical and social activities, designed to create an environment supporting the health and well-being of the community post-pandemic. The implementation of this concept aims to make residential environments more responsive to post-pandemic conditions, prioritizing the physical and mental health of residents while supporting a more sustainable lifestyle.
