Abstract

This study is based on students’ difficulty of making a good writing. They were struggled to put their ideas in written form, arranged them into a good writing. The writer used Gallery Walk because it can make the learning process enjoyable and gets the students to be actively involved so that they understand faster and better in learning process.
This research is aimed to find the answer to the following research questions: How is the students’ participation in implementation of gallery walk technique? How is the improvement of students’ achievement after being taught by using Gallery Walk Technique.
This study is a classroom action research that was done in preliminary research and two cycles. The writer used documentation, observation and test to collect the data.
The implementation of Gallery Walk technique were team, collecting the material, discussion, doing the task presentation and reflection. The indicator of success of this study is 7.5, as the minimum standard of score (KKM). The achievement can be seen in the result of students’ average score from the pre-test was 56.77, the first cycle was 65.79 and second cycle was 7,6. It can be said that there was improvement in writing skill by using Gallery walk technique.
Based on the result of the study, the researcher suggested that the use of Gallery Walk Technique could be an alternative to teach English, especially to enhance students’ writing skill.
