This study is about the potential prejudice sparked internal conflict of Muslims, especially between the group Nahdlotul Ulama (NU) and the Council of Tafsir Al-Qur'an (MTA) in Surakarta. Lately there is a conflict between NU and the MTA congregation. MTA is questioned/disputed by NU in some areas because of the materials and methods of preaching / dakwah considered/tend to be provocative and less likely to appreciate the difference fiqhiyah and abusive deeds done by NU. From the reason above, the conflict between these two Islamic organizations has happened/appeared. One of the triggers that caused the internal conflict among Muslims is the certain group of Muslims can not understand well the other religious groups, which have different ideological backgrounds; that it affects the way of thinking, behaving and acting that are different from themselves. As a result, the internal relations marred by religious conflict, caused by the internal religious prejudice. Similarly, the possibility that occurred among the group of NU and MTA.
From the explanation above, this study answers the question of: How prejudice among the group of NU and MTA in Surakarta and the potential for conflict between the group NU and MTA when viewed from the prejudice of both. The results of this study: First, the level of prejudice NU against to MTA in Surakarta including the scale of middle value, with an average total value of 3:34, which consists of cognitive indicators (belief that degrades) with an average value of 3:32, affective indicator (expression of negative feelings) with the average value of 3:27, the indicator of konasi consisting of the aspects of hostile wishes with the value of 3:59 and desires of discrimination with the average value of 3:27. Second, the level of prejudice the group of MTA against the group of NU in Surakarta, including low-scale value, with an average total value of 2:54, which consists of cognitive indicators (belief that degrades) with an average value of 276, an indicator of affective (expression of feelings negative) with an average value of 2.3, the indicator of konasi consisting of the aspects of hostile wishes with the value of 2.91 and the aspect of desires of discrimination with the average value of 2.19. Third, the potential for conflict between the group of NU and MTA in Surakarta viewed from the prejudices of both still exist, especially viewed from the high bias of the group of NU against MTA, but the potential for this conflict can be minimized because of the prejudice of MTA against to the group of NU is low.
