Abstract

This research is based on the students’ difficulties in speaking to express asking and giving direction. To improve teaching oral proficiency, teacher must have an appropriate technique in teaching speaking to help students feel easy in speaking class. Song is the best media to help students’ speaking.

No language skill is so difficult to assess with precision as speaking ability, and for this reason it look wise to defer our consideration of oral production tests until last. Moreover, some of the problems involved in the evaluation of speaking skill occur in other forms of language testing. Like writing, speaking is a complex skill requiring the simultaneous use of a number of different abilities which often develop at different rates

The purposes of this research are: to know the effectiveness of using song in teaching asking and giving direction. And based on the research that has been done by the writer. There is a significance between students who learn using song and not.
