Abstract
Saling memahami (mutual understanding) adalah kondisi yang pastinyadiinginkan oleh siapa saja, termasuk dalam konteks berkeyakinan. Memang tidak bisa dipungkiri, bahwa Islam di Indonesia menjadi agama mayoritas. Jadi, sangat logis jika dalam tradisi akademik di perguruan tinggi non-Muslim,agama Islam juga dijadikan sebagai objek kajian atau penelitian ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: 1) Mengapa Islamologi diajarkan di Sekolah Tinggi Theologia (STT) Abdiel 2) Model Pembelajaran Islamologi di Sekolah Tinggi Theologia (STT) Abdiel. Permasalahan tersebut dibahas melalui studi lapangan di Sekolah Tinggi Theologia (STT) Abdiel. Datanya diperoleh dengan cara wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Uji keabsahan data dilaksanakan dengan menggunakan uji triangulasi dan perpanjangan observasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah model analisis deskriptif, yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan
Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Mata kuliahIslamologi di Sekolah Tinggi Theologia (STT) Abdiel hukumnya wajib. Iniberdasarkan keputusan Menteri Agama RI Nomor 12 Tahun 1992, tentang penetapan Kurikulum Standar Minimal Program Stratum Satu Perguruan Tinggi Teologi Jurusan Teologi. Motif pembelajaran ditinjau dari perspektif studi Islam (Islamic studies) yang mana kajiannya sesuai dengan kebenaran dalam agama Islam itu sendiri. Tujuan dari pembelajaran tersebut dimaksudkan agar mahasiswa (Kristen) bisa menjalin relasi atau hubungan yang baik dengan masyarakat Muslim disekitarnya, serta upaya untuk menghindari kesalahpahaman terhadap Islam yang pada akhirnya akan menimbulkan sikap dan pola hidup beragama yang tidak tepat pula. (2) Model pembelajaran Islamologi di Sekolah Tinggi Theologia (STT) Abdiel, memuat berbagai aspek yang dapat menunjang keberhasilan pembelajaran. Hal ini meliputi: Penentuan dalam perencanaan pembelajaran dengan mengangkat tema-tema yang telah dimodernisasi sesuai kebutuhan dan perkembangan zaman. Yakni memfokuskan materi kepada fenomena keagamaan Islam kontemporer tinimbang ranah theologis atau akidah belaka. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan kegiatan diskusi terbuka serta menanamkan sikap kritis terhadap segala bentuk informasi yang ada, tanpa adanya bentuk doktrinasi keagamaan. Dengan model pembelajaran yang demikian sudah semestinya mampu mengantarkan mahasiswa ke jalan peradaban modern yang selama ini di idamkan. Peradaban cerah yang dikonstruksi oleh ilmu pengetahuan, yang syarat akan toleransi universal dan saling pengertian.
ABSTRACT:
A mutual understanding was the condition that must be desired by everyone, including in the belief context. It was undeniable that Islam in Indonesia was the majority religion. Thus, it was logical that in academic traditions in non-Muslim colleges, Islam was also used as an object of study or scientific research. The aim of this study was to find out: 1) The reasons of Islamic studies which was learned at the Abdiel Theological Seminary 2) the learning model of Islamic Studies at the Abdiel Theological Seminary. The issue was discussed through field studies at the Abdiel Theological Seminary. The data were obtained by interview, observation, and documentation. The data validity test were conducted using triangulation test and observation extension. The data analysis used descriptive analysis model. Those were reduction data, presentation data, and conclusion.
This study resulted that: (1) The course of Islamology at Theological College (STT) Abdiel was obligatory. This was based on the decision of the Minister of Religious Affairs No. 12 of 1992 about the determination of the Minimum Standards Curriculum Stratum Program One Theological College of Theology Department. The learning motif was viewed from the perspective of Islamic studies (Islamic studies) which the study was in accordance with the truth in Islam itself. The purpose of this learning was to make the students (Christians) able to establish relationship or good relation with the Muslim community around them, as well as efforts to avoid misunderstandings of Islam that would ultimately lead to inappropriate attitudes and patterns of religious life as well. (2) The learning model of Islamology at college of Theologia (STT) Abdiel, contained various aspects that could support the success of learning. These included: Determination in the planning of learning by raising the themes that had been modernized according to the need and the development of the time. That was to focus the material on contemporary Islamic religious phenomena rather than theological or faithful aspects. The implementation of learning with opened-discussion activities and inculcated a critical attitude towards all forms of information available, without any form of religious doctrinaire. With such a model of learning was supposed to be able to deliver students to the path of modern civilization that had been expected. A bright civilization constructed by science, whose condition was universal tolerance and mutual understanding.
