Abstract

A family is the first social institution that is acknowledged by the children yet in this particular institution too, various characters to build their personality in the future can be taught and shaped. It is of a family responsibility to provide the fund to meet their children education needs. Family of the higher-income economy will hardly meet any burden to provide their children education needs, while such things would usually go the other way around with those parents of the lower-income economy family, so in this case the purposes of this study were to describe the influence of parents’ economy background to students’ achievement. This research was conducted in MTs NU Nurul Huda Semarang in the academic year of 2014/2015 in VIII grade students. The research design was quentitative research. Documentation, observation and questionnaire were used to collect the data. The result of the study showed that there was influence of parents’ social-economy condition to the students’ English learning achievement, which makes up as many as 8,6% is significant; therefore, we can finally say the influence of parents’ socioeconomic condition to MTs NU Nurul Huda Semarang students’ learning achievement is real. If the parents’ socioeconomic is high, so the achievement of its students will be high as well. Such things happen the other way around too, if the condition is low, therefore it will resulting to the low achievement as well, mainly because the lack of facilities and supports thats supposed to enhance the students’ learning neccessities, its becoming a burden for the students to study and learn.
