Abstract
Speaking is the way to interpret a language in communication. It is important to study speaking because speaking is the part of communication.The objectives of this research are to know what speaking exercises are employed in TellMe More software and to analyze how speaking exercises in Tell Me More software can facilitates student’s speaking skill.
This research used library research, which analyzed exercises. The researcher got data from the English Speaking Exercises of British English in Tell Me More software that was created by Auralog S A.
Based on the discussion of the data analysis, result, and opinions in the previous chapter, the conclusions can be described that the speaking exercises of Tell Me More software consists of: Several levels (Beginner, Advanced Beginner, Intermediate, Independent, and Advanced); Vocabulary practice (Picture/Word Association with Speech Recognition, and The Right Word with Speech Recognition); Pronunciation practice (Phonetics Exercise, Word Pronunciation, and Sentence Pronunciation); Conversational practice (Dialogue: Expresiion and Film set); and Spoken grammar (Word Order with Speech Recognition).
The speaking exercises of Tell Me More software facilitates student’s speaking because the speaking exercise of tell me more software are included in basic assessment types of speaking, they are categories are imitative (Phonetics Exercise, Word Pronunciation, and Sentence Pronunciation), intensive (Word Order with Speech Recognition, Picture/Word Association with Speech Recognition, and The Right Word with Speech Recognition), responsive (Dialogue: Expression), interactive (Film set).
